Feeling worn out?

MADA Smithfield, Dublin 7
MADA Smithfield, Dublin 7

Yesterday, I was in a rush — one of those chaotic mornings where the clock is sprinting and you’re already 15 minutes behind. I grabbed my keys, threw on whatever outfit didn’t need ironing, and headed for the door.

But the door wouldn’t open.

Why?

Because I was pulling instead of pushing.

Not once. Not twice. But about three times before I realised I was the problem — not the door.

And I stood there laughing like an idiot, because isn’t that exactly how life feels sometimes?

You’re pushing with all your might — energy, time, effort — trying to make something work. Trying to feel better. Trying to get back to “yourself.”

But nothing’s budging.

And in the panic or frustration, you don’t stop to consider: maybe you’re just approaching it the wrong way.

I see this all the time in aesthetics.

Clients come in worn out.

Not sleeping. Not feeling confident.

Thinking they need to do everything — new gym routine, new diet, fix their career, sort the house, fix their face.

Because if they can just push harder, surely things will feel better.

But sometimes, it’s not about doing more.

Sometimes, it’s about doing one thing differently.

Something that reconnects you to you.

Maybe that’s taking 30 minutes for an antiaging face massage.

Maybe it’s finally booking the treatment you’ve been thinking about for six months.

Maybe it’s not about pushing your body harder — maybe it’s about looking in the mirror and seeing a face that feels like yours again.

Whatever it is, aesthetics isn’t about vanity.

It’s about that gentle shift — the one that gets you out of your own head and back into your own skin.

So if you’ve been standing in front of the metaphorical door, yanking away, wondering why nothing’s working — maybe it’s time to stop pushing.

Pause. Rethink. And choose a different way in.

Because when you do?

You’d be amazed how easily things open.

Best wishes,

Margaret
